According to government forecasts, Kazakhstan’s economic growth in 2026 will be driven by the manufacturing sector, construction, transport, trade, as well as the production of food and beverages. These priorities were outlined at a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin.
The highest growth rates are expected in mechanical engineering, reaching 13.4%. The automotive industry will play a key role, with passenger car production planned to increase by 17% in 2026 due to new plants launched by Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan and KIA Qazaqstan. Metallurgy is projected to grow by 3% as new enterprises reach full capacity.
Trade turnover in 2026 may reach 92.4 trillion tenge, while the chemical industry is expected to grow by 7%.
